Horseback Riding Tour San Lorenzo

Early in the morning we will leave the busy city and head up to the mountains surrounding our Central Valley. Along the way you will be able to drive by some typical Costa Rican Towns and enjoy the variety of vegetation, and the scenery of coffee fields and ornamental plants. As we ascend you will experience the climate changes, a common characteristic of our country.

The Valle Escondido Stables have a selection of some of the most beautiful and well-mannered horses in Costa Rica available for your riding pleasure. You may participate in an organized tour led by a guide who knows all of the secret places of Valle Escondido, or you can explore the wonders of Valle Escondido independently on the network of 20 km of trails throughout the valley.

Finishing the tour, after a short walk to La Gran Vista Restaurant, enjoy a delicious lunch and a great view.

Arenal Volcano/ Mountain Biking (2DAYS/1NIGHT)

The first day we will have the same activities that are scheduled for the One Day Arenal Volcano by Night & Hot Springs tour. We will spend the night in a comfortable hotel (Arenal Paraíso, Arenal Country Inn, San Bosco, Montaña de Fuego, or Tabacón Lodge which charges an additional fee). The second day, after a good breakfast, we will begin the arduous mountain bike ride at the Arenal Dam (the operator is Aventuras Arenal). This tour will be perfect for those who enjoy to ride to the forest, volcano and the Arenal Lake areas.

You will witness incredible and you may see many kinds of birds, monkeys and pizotes. We will take an old road that will lead us through the fascinating forest. At the end of the way, we will find the entrance to the Arenal Volcano National Park. We will then go towards the Arenal Observatory (without getting entering), turning to the main road to return to Tabacón Resort.

Arenal Volcano/ White Water Rafting - Class 3 Peñas Blancas (2DAYS/1NIGHT)

The first day we will have the same activities that are scheduled for the One Day Arenal Volcano by Night & Hot Springs tour. We will stay at the chosen hotel; which may be: Arenal Paraíso, Arenal Country Inn, (Tabacón Lodge additional fee), San Bosco or Montaña de Fuego. The second day after breakfast, we will go to the Bridge between San Isidro and the Invu which is only 40 Minutes from La Fortuna (Aguas Bravas is the tour operator). We will get into the Peñas Blancas River to travel for 5 miles through crystalline circulating waters. The view is characterized for its big natural pools of volcanic origin and its abundant vegetation. At the middle of the tour we will have delicious tropical fruits that are nicely served. Later, we will have a splendid lunch at Rancho Los Horcones, in the unique Chachagua Forest. Finally, we will return to Tabacón Resort where we will have an extraordinary dinner before going back to San José.

Monteverde Biological Reserve

Monteverde is well known for the beauty and exuberance of the Cloud Forest Reserve; which is famous worldwide. It offers the visitor a large variety of trees, flowers and birds. Arenal Volcano and Caño Negro
(2DAYS/1NIGHT)

The first day we will have the same exciting activities as the One Day Arenal Volcano by Night and Hot Springs Tour. In addition, we will spend the night, Lagos, Montaña de Fuego, or Tabacón Lodge (which charges an additional fee). The second day*, after an excellent breakfast, we will take a boat to go through the impressive Rio Frio and the splendid Caño Negro Lagoon -having the opportunity to observe different species of flora and fauna. We will have a delicious box lunch while we are still in the lagoon. Finally, we will return to the exceptional Tabacón Resort to have dinner before returning to San José.

The first day we will have a delicious breakfast on the way to Monteverde. We will arrive at the respective hotel by lunchtime (Fonda Vela, El Bosque, Belmar, Heliconia or El Establo). We will then go to the incredible Mariposario where you can see tropical butterflies, and the absolutely exciting Sky Walk that will give you a different perspective of the jungle life from the highlands. The second day we will visit the Cloud Forest Monteverde Reserve, where we can appreciate its exuberance and diversity due to the convergence of six different ecological systems.
